May 27th 2008

Almost 6 month and 3 trips to Europe later, finally an update......
Steve Clarke invited me to play keyboards with his trio on his tour in Europe in February, and I have to admit, it was really fun! So much fun, that we actually decided to start a collaboration (Phishbacher feat. Steve Clarke, Steve Clarke trio feat. phishbacher, depending where you're gonna see us) , and we'll be back in Europe in Oct/Nov 2008!!

And the latest developement: I met with another Fischbacher, Axel Fischbacher that is, guitarist from Cologne/Germany. We figured, since there are really only a few musicians out there with that distinctive last name, we might as well join forces. So Phishbacher feat. Fischbacher was born! To be heard live in late october 2008 in Germany.

And directly ahead of me is several weeks of work finishing up the upcoming CD "Proof that!", which we recorded in NYC a few month ago.

I'll be back in Europe in June for a few concerts, one of them a big festival in Prague/CZ, which I am really excited about.

Dec 6thth, 2007

Finally getting to updating the website. Just put up all the stuff from the last tour in Europe in Oct/Nov 2007. We got 2 Live CDs out of it, one with the Quartet, feat. Kuba Dolezal on saxophone, and one just with the trio, unplugged!
Also a few nice pictures.
Thanks to everybody who made the tour possible (Hanka..!), we had a blast!

So what's next? Gonna do a limited release with those 2 CDs, grahpics are in the works as i type, they also should go up on itunes in a few month. I'll be back in Europe next April/May, this time also featuring trumpetist Thomas Siffling (DE) for a few gigs in CZ and DE. Listening back to the live recordings I really liked the acoustic trio , so there is probably more to come next year. And ofcourse some more of the signature fusion sound, with kuba tearing it up on the sax!
Until then I'll be doing my regular Wednesday trio gigs at the Water Street Restaurant in Brooklyn.

Cheers

March 29th, 2007

Just put up new pix from the last tour, check them out here. The tour was great, everything worked out in the end. Although my special drummer friend (he, who can't be named for legal reasons, ) left me hanging pretty good, cancelling on me just 10 days before the tour should start, the new man on the bass, Lukas Kytnar got on the phone, and he found two great drummers who could fill in without much time notice.(Petr Zeman and Otto Heinic, they both did a wonderful job!!!)   I'll be back soon with Elisabeth Lohninger in the beginning of May, and later on for one more week with the trio.
Stay tuned

May 22nd

Sitting here in Trebic(SK) in the middle of Laco Deczi's European Tour and just learned that todays gig is cancelled. The good thing about that is that i finally get to write a little blog here that's overdue since about a month. And it also makes me feel better because i am not the only one on who's tour gigs get cancelled .....:)
So here we go: Thanks a lot to everybody involved to make the tour happen, in spite of a lot of difficulties (cancelled gigs mostly, as mentioned above...) we all made it through , and the band has been never that rocking!! Thanks to Hari, Chris and Bernard for musical and personal efforts, thanks to Hanka and Luzie for putting it all together, and to all the fans who came out to the shows!!
I'll be on the road till beginning of june, once I'm back in NY I'll put some photos up one the site.
Future plans? Seems the three of us (hari, chris, me) will be busy recording Elisabeth Lohninger's upcoming Album in July. We'll be back for more shows in the city, not sure about the venue yet (mundial, the place we played in feb/march had to pay a $3000 noise violation fine after we played the last time....). Some vague plans to hit Canada are in the air, and for sure we'll be back in Europe in fall.
stay tuned

A big THANK YOU here to all who have made that tour possible: Volkmar Theil (Soundproductions, Vienna),Christoph Huber (porgy&bess), Peter Baumgaertner and Ali Haurand (Jazzschmiede Duesseldorf), Fecke Luzia and Lila Andzrejewsky (Ignis, Koeln), Tom (Enkirch) , Sepp Mayr in my hometown Voecklabruck, and Herbert Uhlir (Oe1), to all of you who came out to those concerts, and to all of you who prayed and chanted for me (after falling asleep with 90 km/h on the highway all that happend was a damaged headlight....).

We got some nice video footage from the gig in Duesseldorf, should be up on the website in a few days. It will be aired on April 12 around midnight on WDR3. Also check the Oe1 Jazznacht in a few weeks.

Dec 5th, 2004

Just arrived back in NY from 7 weeks in Europe, trying to sort things out, updating the website etc.

Our first tour with Phishbacher went really well, people were diggin' our music , and most places booked us already for April 2005!

We also recorded most concerts, and you can listen to the newest live tracks in the audio section of this website.

And the best thing: We were invited to Jazzschmide Düsseldorf to do a live recording with WDR on Feb 16th 2005.

Many thanks to Olaf and Thomas from Jazz'n'Arts for the great work, hooking us up with CD reviews, gigs etc!!! I really like the gig ant Cafe Prag in Mannheim, it was a great audience and a beautiful location.

I'll keep you posted with any upcoming gigs in NYC in the near future

It's been a busy time since the last update of this site......sorry for that.

the news:

"Chillin' " just got released on the German label "JazznArts" and has been getting airplay throughout Europe!

I have also been working on some new projects over the last half year. We just finished Elisabeth Lohninger's new CD (www.lohninger.net), which is basically "Phishbacher + vocals". And I have been working on some new tunes for our upcoming tour in Europe in November, this time a little more electric that the last project. If you want to get a taste of that new flavor, check out our chilled tuesdays in september at the white rabbit.

The dates for the tour are not all in yet, but I will put ap a temporary schedule by the end of this month.  keep chillin'
